The next stage of the firm's strategic recruitment plan is to appoint a further senior commercial property lawyer. Partnership is very much on the table and a following is not required as there is an existing caseload including freehold transactions, commercial leases and supporting the corporate department on business acquisitions and sales.

Approximately half of the commercial property's workload is supporting the corporate team's business transfers. This has grown considerably over the last three years due to the success of the corporate team specialising in healthcare but also being on the specialist lending panel for RBS, Abbey, Clydesdale Bank and Allied Irish Bank. For example the department recently acted a sale of an 18 property care home group for £15 million.

A quarter of the work is dealing with commercial leases and acquisition and sale of industrial offices and buildings. The remaining work includes acting for local developers.

The firm's clients range from sole traders and partnerships to large limited companies. The offices are stunning and each fee earner has his/her own office. They have made a substantial investment in IT and have a network which provides a full range of programs, precedents and case-management facilities. It is integrated with the accounts system and together with digital dictation it can be accessed from remote locations, thus permitting home working and the establishment of small satellite offices if required.

Worcester is a very attractive city with many notable features which include the Cathedral, River Severn, the County cricket ground and Worcester Warriors Rugby ground (where we hire a corporate box). It also boasts a number of well known schools such as Royal Grammar School, Alice Otley and the Kings School. The city has excellent communications links and quick access to the countryside.
