JS Legal Limited (“JS Legal”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to JS Legal Ltd, will be processed by JS Legal Ltd. Please read the following carefully to understand JS Legal Ltd’s views and practices regarding your personal data and how JS Legal Ltd will treat it.

1. Information JS Legal Ltd may Collect from You

Any data requested will be used for recruitment purposes only.

JS Legal will only ask for personal data that is necessary and relevant for the purposes of the position or positions that are being applied for.

Without limitation, any of the following data may be collected from you:

Job title

Name of your current firm and previous firms that employed you

Date of admission

Education details

Contact information  including address, phone number and email address

Demographic information such as postcode

Level of remuneration

Details of chargeout rate and billings


Details of professional experience

Details of Professional Memberships

Details of Positions of Responsibility

Details of Interests

This includes information provided at the time of registering to use our recruitment service such as your CV and any business plan.  We may also source data from your public linked in profile and your profile on the website of your current employer.

JS Legal Ltd may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes e.g. salary surveys, although you do not have to respond to them.


2. Where We Store Your Personal Data

All information you provide to us is stored on secure servers, specifically the HRS Connect server.

Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.


3. Uses Made Of The Information

We use information held about you in the following ways:

To submit your details for consideration by any law firms or companies that you consent for JS Legal Ltd to introduce you to. 

To provide you with information that you request from us or which we feel may interest you, where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes; and

To notify you about changes to our services.


4. How long JS Legal Ltd intends to store your data

JS Legal Ltd intends to store your data for a period of 5 years from the date of instruction.  You can of course request to have your data deleted at any time as set out below.


5. Access To Information

The Act gives you the right to access information we hold about you. Upon request and within one month of request, JS Legal Ltd will provide you with any personal information we hold for you. To request this, please contact juliascott@js-legal.co.uk.

In addition we can send a link to our candidates that provides the candidates with an online portal containing all their data. We can then grant you permission to be able to edit their data and also grant or revoke data storage consent from within this area.


6. Right to withdraw Information

Upon request and within one month of request, JS Legal Ltd will delete your information should this no longer be necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. To request this, please contact juliascott@js-legal.co.uk.


7. Changes To Our Privacy Policy

Any changes we may make to our privacy policy in the future will be notified to you by email.


8. Security

JS Legal Ltd is committed to ensuring that your data is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the data we collect.
